Where you can make friends after the age of 30

Friendship is wonderful and benefits us on all levels! We all want reliable friends, people with the same values as us. However, it seems it is not so simple anymore to create genuine, sincere and lasting relationships. Everyone is busy, stressed, chasing more money, more clothes and holidays.

If in our teens it was easy to make friends, after 30 it’s not so easy anymore, unless you get out of the house! We’ve come up with a few ways you can meet new people with whom you can have things in common, and over time become friends.

Where you can meet interesting people and make friends:

At work.

Where do you spend the most time in a day? Probably at work. There’s a good chance you can make friends there. You have plenty of time to get to know your colleagues well, perhaps go on team-building programmes or to courses, and so develop closer relationships.

At the gym.

If you like sports, go to the gym or take yoga classes, you’re likely to meet people you already have something in common with. The sports world usually brings together beautiful, open and positive people. You can start a conversation with gym mates by asking where they buy their sports equipment or if they participate in marathons.

At classes/events.

If you want to grow, you probably go to courses and events that interest you, whether they’re for your personal development or your career. These are great opportunities to meet new, interesting people with whom you can develop both friendships and business relationships.

Social networking.

Online …we spend so much time on Facebook that it’s impossible not to find a few interesting people with whom you have things in common. Be brave and invite those people you admire and want to develop a real relationship with for coffee. Only online you can’t say you are friends.

Parents of children who are friends with your children.

If you’re over 30 there’s a good chance you’re also a parent. And kids make lots of friends quickly. You can also take the opportunity to invite the whole family to your home, not just children who come to play together.

We wish you as many harmonious relationships as possible!
